Many people today are going green. If you have been thinking about it, consider the following reasons for doing so and get started right away:

It is the right thing to do – Earth needs our help.
Going green protects and improves Earth’s many resources for our children and their children.
Going green looks to alternative, environmentally-friendly energy sources.
Going green reduces toxic chemicals in the air we breathe, the water we drink and the food we eat, eliminating potential health hazards.
Going green reduces energy costs. Turning the thermostat down a few degrees, fixing a dripping faucet, taking shorter showers, carpooling – all conserve energy and reduce costs.
Going green includes recycling items such as cans, newspapers and glass and properly disposing of hazardous waste.
Going green protects our forests in ways such as going paperless, eliminating junk mail and recycling paper.
Going green includes using natural products when possible for clothing, cleaning agents, gardening and other routine activities.
Going green sets an excellent example for future generations.
Going green is an admirable and necessary cause that can be shared with friends and family.

We must all step up to the plate and do our part. Go green today.

So all your friends are talking about their cool “Green” efforts and it leaves you scratching your head and wondering how you even start to live green. Until the last few years it the environment wasn’t something that the average person thought much about. But with new studies showing the damage that we are doing to our environment and the ozone it really is everyone’s responsibility to take better care of our planet. Don’t panic! There are some very simple things that you can do that will make a huge impact on the world that you live in.

1. Use re-usable cloth shopping bags instead of plastic bags
2. Recycle! This is the easiest thing you can do. Separate plastic, paper and glass from your everyday trash and send it to the recycling center each week.
3. When you run errands, try to run them all on one trip. This saves gas and creates fewer emissions.
4. Instead of buying brand new items such as clothing or furniture, buy used! Or recycle unwanted items with family and friends. This is an excellent way to cut down on waste!

The fun thing about living “Green” is its contagious. When you see others living that way you will want to make the effort too and in turn you will inspire others around you. Once you get started you will find easy ways to make simple changes in your everyday life and before you know it your family will be living green!

More than 50 million tons of paper is wasted each year in the United States and that’s after you account for what actually gets recycled which is a little more than a third. Most of this paper is used making frivolous memos and sending out company-wide announcements when emails would have sufficed and a vast majority of it is used for antiquated filing systems where a hard, physical copy of everything must be documented.

Luckily, services on the internet are starting to wise up and the paperless office is becoming less of an idea and more of a lifestyle; much to the delight of forests everywhere. Now people can store documents online from their desktops and people on the move can hook up through their Mobile Broadband connections to access important documents on data storage sites.

While this doesn’t entirely eliminate the necessity for paper, it certainly helps. People can store their important documents in digital format and access them at any time without having to have a physical copy in hand. Not to mention that most books these days are making the leap to electronic format as well, no longer requiring the need for published paper formats.

I think there is a general agreement that going Green is beneficial. Whether is about helping the planet or eating healthier, it is a trend that is growing in support. One of the more visible illusions to the trend is how expensive it is to live Green. While it’s true there are some aspects that can be costly, there are many changes we can easily make in our own lives that not only help the planet and our bodies but can actually save us money. Lets look at this both long-term and short-term.

In the long-term, there are many home upgrades that will save you money after an initial number of years to recoup the cost. Things like solar panels, tankless water heaters, and geothermal heating can have large up front costs, but will ultimately lower your energy bills over the life of your home.

In the short-term, there are many things that keep a few dollars in your wallet. Having a small vegetable garden in your yard saves you money on buying produce, and using a rain barrel will allow you to water it without raising your water bill. Weather permitting, you can dry your clothes on a clothes line.

There are many small things you can do to better the planet without paying for it.

Today the big hype in the environment is about “going green” and how to better protect our environment for the future generations. Although many, if not most, larger retailers and stores in the market have already made a move towards going green, there are still many people who are hesitant to the idea, and are unwilling to change some of their older habits (especially the older generations).

It is not difficult to change a few lifestyle habits, there are very basic things which each individual can do to go green, and help to protect our environment. Each individual should take certain steps, and change a few lifestyle habits towards going green, and preserving our natural resources.

Doing things as simple as changing the light bulbs in your home, turning off the water while brushing your teeth, or conserving gasoline (by carpooling), are all simple things, which do not require much effort, and can help make the earth greener. These simple tasks do not cost any additional money for consumers, they will help the environment and help preserve natural resources, and should be a step that if every individual is willing to take, will help make things much better for everyone.

Going green is all the rage from Hollywood to Bollywood and even though it might cost something initially, going green is definitely beneficial to the pocket and the environment. There are numerous avenues one can use in order to go green and the simplest is by using renewable energy within the property. This can be done with the aid of solar energy and wind energy both of which are readily available and free for all to use.

Another method one can use in order to save money and protect the environment is to walk or cycle to work where applicable. This cuts down on the carbon emissions one is responsible for resulting in a cleaner environment. Using public transportation also cuts down on these emissions by transporting more people at a time.

Where applicable, roof top gardens can be incorporated onto a property, which serves as a natural cooling system for the property. This cuts down on the use of regular air conditioning thereby cutting down on the power that is consumed within the home.

There are multiple ways in which an individual, family or community can save on money and protect the environment at the same time, but these are some of the most basic that all and sundry can employ.
